Diabetes Control with Green Bean Pods
A friend of mine (who was diabetic) gave me this information about 10 years ago. Her physician had given her this recipe to use. She lived to be in her eighties, so I guess it worked.
The skins of the green bean pods are said to contain substances that are related to insulin. She placed about 4 cups of bean pods in about 1 gallon of water and cooked them soft. She strained the pods from the liquid and drank 3 cups a day with her meals. One cup was said to equal 1 unit of insulin.
